The Friends of Hart Park and Museum

Who We Are (The Friends Organization)

The Friends of Hart Park and Museum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and maintaining the historic legacy of William S. Hart's ranch and museum. Composed of passionate community members from the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond, we work hand-in-hand with city park leadership to ensure this unique community treasure remains vibrant and accessible to all.

Our Mission

To honor the final wishes of silent film star William S. Hart by keeping his beloved ranch open to the public, fostering appreciation for local history, and supporting the care of the ranch animals and historic structures.

What We Do

  • Community Events: We organize and support classic, family-friendly events—including the annual Powwow and Silents Under the Stars—that celebrate Hart's rich cinematic legacy and the timeless Western ideals of artistic integrity, community hospitality, and open-space stewardship that he championed.
  • The Trading Post: We operate the park's Trading Post, providing unique gifts, historical books, and souvenirs to park visitors. All proceeds directly fund park improvement projects.
  • Caring for the Legacy: From supporting the barnyard animals to helping fund historical preservation efforts, our organization dedicates our efforts to make the park shine.
